On 15th October 1999, Peter Brant and I set off with a forecast 7/16 090/12 9's bk 040 P40 7/9 8k bk 012 and an actual 0620 070/6 9's few 015 bk 040 10/9 1024. Not a brilliant forecast but just about feasible for record photos. We were in low wispy stratus at about 700 ft just after leaving Tatenhill and it seemed to be caused fairly locally by the cooling tower steam from all the local power stations. Many thanks again to the air traffic controllers at East Midlands who fitted us into the traffic and enabled us to get the following photograhs, original and enhanced!
